Summer Family Retreat 2021

Frequently Asked questions

Will there be any activities for children 4 and under?

The primary responsibility of looking after/entertaining children under 4 will fall on the parent(s) attending the Retreat. However, we are exploring options with the Centre and parents to offer group and independent activities appropriate for their age. If you would prefer for your family to remain together, we do allow children under 4 to attend the physical activities and support their siblings, even though they are not taking part.

Is everything included in the price or do we have to pay extra for activities?

The price of £199 is all-inclusive, which includes activities as well as your accommodation and meals. The only additional activities that the Centre charges for are water sport activities. Signing on to the water sport activities is optional and will depend on securing interest from a minimum of 15 participants. Please get in touch if this is something you would be interested in.

I don’t have children, but would still like to attend. Is this possible?

Of course. We welcome individuals and families of all sizes to attend, as the Retreat has something for everyone.

Do you offer refunds for Covid-19 related cancellations?

We will be offering the option of a full refund for cancellations due to Covid-19 (e.g. if local/national restrictions are applied after booking or a member of your team has a positive Covid-19 test less than 10 days before arrival). Please read our Terms & Conditions for more details.

Is there any flexibility on the arrival time?

If you expect to arrive later than the arrival time (Friday 2:30 pm), you will need to make us aware so that we can inform the Centre. Depending on your arrival, you may miss out on lunch or a number of the physical activities on the first day. The evening meal will be served between 6pm-7:30pm.

As a family, will we have our own bedrooms or will we be sharing rooms?

Each family will have their own bedroom/s in a shared lodge. There will be a choice of bedroom that sleep: 2, 4 and 6 and the bedroom you will be allocated will depend on the number of people in your group.

What level of luxury should we expect from the bedrooms?

The cabin style bedrooms are rustic and standard B&B style. All beds are single and some rooms have bunk beds. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower and there are facilities in each room for phone charging.

Will there be WiFi at the Centre?

As a nature resort, the Centre’s aim is to get people outdoors without the distraction of technology. As such, WiFi is only available in one building at the site and there is minimal phone coverage throughout the resort.

Will the food at the Retreat be Halal?

The catering company at the Centre will be offering a selection of Halal and vegetarian options for breakfast, lunch and dinner during the Retreat.

What do you advise about Jum’ah prayer on the arrival day?

Depending on your travel route, there is a Mosque that you may be able to stopover at for Jum’ah prayer: https://chestermosque.org. Please check for travel updates on the day of your departure to confirm.
